Ira 4 (James 3, Conrad 2) and Mary (Reynolds) WINANS, Undated

This series consists of correspondence received by Ira Winans, along with some sent correspondence (items returned to him unopened or along with responses). Boxes 8 through 17 consist of materials found sorted prior to the description of the collection. While this collection has been used and manipulated numerous times prior to description, it appears that this sorting reflects Ira Winans' original order. Boxes 17A through 19 contain letters found in an unsorted mass within the collection. These letters have been arranged by date to provide some level of organization for access purposes. Boxes 20 and 21 contain letters found as groups either bound together within the unsorted mass of the previous boxes or in "Box 5" of the original housing. These groups were foldered together in order to retain original order.
