Balance Sheet/Profit and Loss Statement, 1924

This collection consists of records from William Summerhays Sons, a masonry and chimney services company formerly located in Rochester, New York. Founded in 1856 by English immigrant mason William Summerhays, the company long focused on work involving refractory (high temperature) brick, such as industrial ovens and chimneys. They were one of the few companies anywhere in the United States that constructed industrial scale chimneys and smokestacks until their closure in the 2010s. This collection primarily consists of financial reports produced for William Summerhays & Sons between 1924 and 1931 by their accountants, along with a few items related to Summerhays family genealogy dating from 1887 to 1976.
