Biographical note

Thomas P. Stowell was born on September 5, 1819. Thomas was a highly regarded Mathmetician who graduated from Hallowell University in Virginia. In 1863, Thomas started working for Aetna as a Fire Insurance adjuster. By 1884 he lived in Rochester, New York with his wife Henrietta Fowler and his five children. He retired from business in 1895 and lived out the rest of his days on 29 Atkinson Street in Rochester, New York before passing away on February 29, 1896.
