This file contains six books and various pages in german about tailoring. The contents belonged to Fred Emmerling, a German immigrant who worked in Rochester New York between 1932-1946. The documents included are six books filled with client measurements and a folder of various pages of tailoring techniques and directions.

Biographical / Historical
Fred Emmerling was a German tailor working in Rochester New York during the 1930's and 1940's. He emigrated from Chemnitz Germany in 1923 and was sponsored by a friend to live in the United States. He owned his own Tailor shop in Irondequoit New York from 1934-1944. Fred died on July 3rd 1990 leaving behind his wife Leonie and his daughter Janet.
