Biographical / Historical
The Denonville Pageant took place in Victor N.Y. on July 17th 1937. The pageant depicted the 250th anniversary of the 17th century Denonville Expedition where French soldiers clashed with the Seneca people. A mock battle was planned with an elaborate script and cast of characters. Guests and spectators were invited to watch from the top of Boughton Hill as the pageant played out. Various other similar pageants took place during July of 1937 but the papers in this collection focus only on the one that took place in Victor N.Y.
