This collection consists of the papers of Patricia Terziani, Program Director for Action Front Center at Action for a Better Community, Rochester, New York and are related to the HIV/AIDS crisis in the Rochester, New York community and efforts by Action for a Better Community to create and support programming to combat the disease and its related issues. The materials dated from 1991-2012. The papers are comprised of workshop, conference, and program materials, grant applications and letters of intent, correspondence, newspaper clippings, and training materials. Areas of focus include community events and efforts in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, the grant application process for the AIDS center at Strong Memorial Hospital through the Ryan White Title II Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act and the AIDS/HIV Prevention Among Women and Their Children Program.

Biographical / Historical

Patricia Terziani was born in 1952 in Rochester, NY. She attended Gates Chili High School and later attended Rutgers University and Suny Brockport. Patricia Terziani dedicated her career to working at the Action for Better Community Organization where she did research, budgeting, and advocated for people who diagnosed with AIDS and HIV. Patricia did research advocating for better care and resources for those who suffered from AIDs/HIV. She also planned retreats and advocated for places that teens and young adults could hang out and have a safe space. She worked at Action for Better Community as a the Community Development Intuit Manager and later was promoted to the Action Front Manager in January of 2014. Patricia still continues to serve the community today at the age of 72 years old.
