Consists of the papers of Patricia Coury-Doniger, Rochester, New York based nurse practitioner of infectious diseases and founder of the Center for Community Practice at the University of Rochester. The materials are comprised of slides, books, binders, booklets, correspondence, and articles and are related to the prevention and treatment of STI's, HIV and AIDS, and training materials.

Biographical / Historical

Patricia Coury Doniger is a Rochester native. She earned her bachelors of Arts in Biology from State University of New York at Binghamton. She became a registered nurse in 1976. Later Patricia Coury Doniger led efforts to educate the community about AIDs/HIV and other STD's. She developed a course that educated students about STD's. She also created a workshop that educated students. Coury-Doniger also taught nursing classes at the Univeristy of Rochester and guest lectured a nursing conference. Patricia Coury-DOniger served the Rochester community at places such as Planned Parenthood of Rochester and dedicated her time to teach the community about how to have safer sexual intercourse.
