William Giancursio was the artistic designer for the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus that was founded in 1982. The collection include one t-shirt commemorating the joint performance of Toronto Gay Men's Chorus and the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus at Nazareth College Arts Center on June 2, 1990. The collection also include 13 Rochester Gay Men's Chorus posters.

Biographical / Historical

William “Bill” Giancursio is a gay artist and author from the Rochester area. Giancursio was a member of the Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus (RGMC) and during his ten years with the RGMC, he served as the artistic designer from 1986-1993. Giancursio also worked as a graphic designer for the Empty Closet, a local Rochester LGBTQ+ serial publication, and was an instructor at Rochester Institute of Technology.

The Rochester Gay Men’s Chorus (RGMC) was founded in 1982 and performs three concert series annually in the Rochester area and have held exchange concerts with choruses in Detroit, Philadelphia, Toronto, Vancouver, Cleveland, and Germany. The RGMC seeks to use music as an avenue for community harmony, acceptance, and world betterment, and has a membership of over 40 people. The RGMC belongs to the Greater Rochester Choral Consortium and the Arts and Cultural Council of Monroe County.
