Biographical / Historical
Dr. Ebenezer Bowen was born in Hartford Connecticut in September 1789. He arrived in Rochester NY in 1814 where he established his medical practice. He at one point moved his practice to Waterford Ohio, but eventually made his way back to Brighton NY in 1830. He was an active member of the Pioneer Society of Western NY and also served as the Brighton town clerk. Dr. Bowen would pass away in 1865 and is buried at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester NY.
