Biographical / Historical

Howard Clark Dana was born in 1885 in Rochester, NY. He was a member of the National Society Sons of the American Revolutionary War since his ancester George Dana served as a Sergeant in Captain Jonathan Gate's Company of Minute Men that marched on Lexington April 19TH, 1775. He married Cornelia York MacGregor in 1908. He owned an Insurance company titled Howard C Dana & Co.

Later in life he was part of the Seth Green Memorial Committee, where he worked with donors to get a memorial dedicated to Seth Green as he saw what Seth Green did in the ways of pioneering hunting and fishing techniques. Along with Fish hatchings and Artificial Propagation.

The materials in this collection show how Howard wrote to commitee members for donations for the memorial and how he organized the memorial reveal by writing to the family mebers of Seth Green and inviting them to come to the reveal. This collection also shows what Howard collected on Seth green including newspapers, photographs, and pamphlets.
