Biographical / Historical

Dr. Charles VanDerBeek was born in January of 1863 in Western N.Y. He enrolled in medical studies at New York University. Upon graduating, he moved to Canandaigua N.Y. working at a mental hospital and eventually moving to Rochester N.Y. Charles served at the president of the Medical Association of Central N.Y. as well as the Rochester Academy of Medicine, The Rochester Pathological Society, and The Medical Society of the County of Monroe. Charles passed away in December 1942 from declining health. He is buried in Canandaigua N.Y.
