This collection consists of American Bicentennial papers handled by the City Historian’s Office from 1971 to 1977. This collection is primarily newsletters published by the New York State American Revolution Bicentennial Commission (NYS ARBC) titled “USA 200, The American Bicentennial Newsletter” and “The Correspondent”, as well as issues of the “Bicentennial Times”, “Bicentennial Era”, and “Bicentennial News” published by the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission (renamed the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration in 1973) located in Washington D.C. Also included in this collection are newspaper clippings relating to America’s Bicentennial and several issues of the “Scene”, a newspaper published by the Arts Council of Rochester, New York. The collection includes meeting minutes of the Bicentennial Congress of Monroe County, Inc. and correspondence relating to America’s Bicentennial that were compiled by Irving Koval, Blake McKelvey, and Joseph Barnes. This collection also includes the bylaws of the Bicentennial Congress of Monroe County. As well as paper materials, there are three boxes of memorabilia consisting of calendars, slides, photographs, pins, pens, and a seal.
