Karl Kabelac files on Rochester banking history

Mr. Karl S. Kabelac served for over 30 years as a librarian in the Rare Books, Special Collections and Preservation Department at the University of Rochester's Rush Rhees Library. While there, Mr. Kabelac played a significant role in the preservation of Rochester's history, not only as an archivist, but also through his indexing, writing and personal collecting. He is best known for the series of indexes to Rochester-area images and publications that he was instrumental in creating. This collection of banking-related materials brings together several of Mr. Kabelac's interests. Two folders contain original documents related to the formation and early governance of the Traders National Bank of Rochester. These include the original Articles of Agreement between the Eagle Bank and the Manufacturers' Bank to the form the Traders National Bank in 1859. Also present are a check and a certificate of deposit from the Traders National Bank. The other two folders reflect Mr. Kabelac's use of these materials. Folder 3 houses a copy of an article on the Traders National Bank written for Bank Note Reporter in 2005. Folder 4 is a research file on Traders National Bank of Rochester, containing newspaper clippings and copies of historic documents.
