This series consists of photographs collected by Richard Esse, an individual affiliated with the LGBTQ+ community in Rochester, New York. The materials date between 1965 and 1977. The bulk of the photographs are undated. Photographs show Esse and friends sitting together, eating, and lounging in various apartments. Other images include men at places of work like a grocery store and office space. Many images portray friends of Esse in drag.

Arrangement

Prior to donation to the Local History and Genealogy Division of the Rochester Public Library, materials in this collection were arranged chronologically by month and year and given object numbers written in pencil on the verso of each photograph. Photographs were removed from album sleeves and stored in archival paper envelopes.
