Scope and Contents

This series consists of materials collected by Wilfred (Whitey) LeBlanc, former President of the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley. The materials date between 1977 and 1980. The materials consist of correspondence, budgets, expense reports, and flyers for the annual Gay Alliance picnics. The materials document the planning and expenses for the annual picnics and the increased attendance from the first picnic to 1980.

Biographical Note

Wilfred (Whitey) LeBlanc moved to Rochester, New York from New York City in 1965. LeBlanc was active in the Gay Liberation Front on the University of Rochester campus, and was instrumental in forming the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley. LeBlanc served as the first president of the Gay Alliance from July 1973 to January 1974. In March 1974, LeBlanc was selected as the chairperson of the Finance Committee.
