Administrative Note
The origin of these album leaves is uncertain. The donor found them at a yard sale, and presented them to us. Similarities in style of construction , indexing, and the handwriting of the creator(s) suggests that they may be related to the Rochester subway construction photographs collection (2016 004).
The photographs themselves include images of major city streets, including views of streetcar infrastructure. There are photographs of the New York Central bridge and a sewer project, all from 1913. Later photographs, from 1918, document the construction of the truss bridge across the Genesee River for Clarissa Street (now Ford Street).Extent
