Scope and Contents
This series documents the publication of the World War Service Record, Volumes I-III. The correspondence includes letters of inquiry between the city historian and servicemen from Rochester, New York that served in World War I regarding their service records. It also includes correspondence regarding the distribution of complimentary copies, analysis and advance sheets, the Bonus Act, and the approval and payment of bills for the publication.
The series includes reports from local historians from the town and villages in Monroe County. It also contains announcements regarding the status of the publication, and calls for greater participation in the project.
In addition to the correspondence and reports, this series also contains estimates, bids, contract, newspaper clippings, and mailing lists regarding the publication of the three volumes.
