Abstract

This is an artificial collection comprised of bills and receipts collected by the Rochester Public Library's Local History Division over several decades. The materials in the collection date between 1808 and 1971, and represent hundreds of Rochester businesses.

The collection concerns the McCurdy & Co. and B. Forman department stores, headquartered in Rochester, New York. Materials include some office documents and photographs but primarily blueprints, specifications, videotapes, reel-to-reel tapes, and cassette tapes.

Content Description Midtown Plaza was the first downtown indoor shopping mall in the United States, opened in 1962. This collection consists of concept art, floor plans, architectural drawings and other ephemeral materials related to Midtown Plaza. Abstract The Sibley, Lindsay and Curr Company archive documents the lifecycle of a prominent merchandising enterprise from its founding in March 1868 by the partners Rufus Adams Sibley (1841-1928), Alexander Miller Lindsay (1841-1920), and John Curr (1837-1918) to its merger in January 1990 with the Kaufmann Co.
