This collection consists of papers of the Backus family and includes genealogy hand written and typed, and the "Memorables of the Montgomeries" manuscript. It also includes a daguerreotype of Gerrit Fitzhugh Backus and his mother. the collection also contains a copy of "Sonnets of War and Peace and Other Poems" by Thomas Rochester Shepard, 1929. The book is signed by Thomas Rochester Shepard to Mr. and Mrs. Backus.

Notes, letters, family trees, articles, statistical records and other genealogical information produced by the Genealogy Round Table of Monroe County (formerly the Genealogy Round Table of Rochester) from 1933 to approximately 2000. These records consist primarily of notes made by the members of the Round Table, and do not generally provide comprehensive information on any given person or family.

Content Description This collection consists of material on family genealogy assembled by Geraldine Kingsbury of Rochester, N.Y. The collection focuses on the Greentree, Stern, and Wile families, including material on the important involvement of all three families in Rochester’s clothing industry. Additional material relates to Jewish genealogy both in general and in relation to Ms. Kingsbury’s extended family. Abstract

This series consists of the records created during the daily operations of Rochester City Historian, Edward Foreman. The materials date between 1921 and 1939, with a bulk of the materials dated between 1921 and 1930. The materials consist mostly of correspondence but also include newspaper clippings, budgets, reports, and information on the historical marker program.
