Content Description

This collection consists of documents, photographs and other records related to Ellen Swartz's involvement in two notable Rochester public art projects. Swartz, a furniture maker, collaborated with sculptor Calvin Hubbard on a frieze of the Post family for the Hochstein School and a bust of Austin Steward for the former Rochester Riverside Hotel, both during the 1980s. Swartz produced the frame for the frieze and a base for the bust. Materials in the collection date between 1985 and 2002.

Content Description This collection consists of two bodies of material. First, there are scripts, research notes, and images collected for tours that Schuler created related to the history of the Maplewood neighborhood and Maplewood Park. Second, Schuler served as an unofficial photographer for Rochester's 2001 Horses on Parade public art project, connecting with the artists to document the horses' creation and to record many of them on display. Abstract

This collection consists of documents, images, audiovisual materials and ephemera associated with the Atlantic-Beacon Sculpture Committee. The materials were accumulated by Steve Lovi during his time serving on the Atlantic-Beacon Sculpture Committee from 2003 to 2005, and reflect the work of the committee and its engagement with the Neighborhood of the Arts community.
