Content Description This is an artificial collection consisting of 65 almanacs published in the vicinity of Rochester, New York between 1812 and 1938 (accession 2020.011). An additional group of 47 almanacs donated by the Honeoye Falls-Mendon Historical Society (accession 2021.018) was added to the collection in 2021. This collection consists of four albums compiled by by Dellon Marcus Dewey, a prolific early Rochester writer and bookseller. The albums are collections of plates or descriptive materials related to Rochester's nursery industry. Only one book is dated (1872), but all presumably come from this time period.

Elizabeth Coyle Collection of William Alling Imprints

Content Description

This collection consists of 10 early Rochester imprints, 9 from the press of William Alling and 1 from the press of Hamlet Scrantom. The volumes in the collection date between 1830 and 1844. They represent imprints from two of Rochester, New York's first printers as passed down through Alling's family for several generations.
