The collection deals primarily with the Midtown Plaza shopping mall in Rochester, New York, particularly the Plaza’s 20th and 25th anniversaries. Materials include press releases, newspaper clippings, photographs, slides, and miscellaneous office documentation. Two scrapbooks of newspaper clippings concern planning for the shopping center that eventually became Rochester’s Marketplace Mall.

Content Description

This collection consists of 6 day books belonging to John T. Talman, an early Rochester banker and industrialist. Best remembered today for the eponymous Talman Building, he was an important civic leader as well as a successful businessman. The day books date from 1839 to 1850, and record daily financial transactions.

This collection consists of a ledger book recording rents paid in the Reynolds Arcade, a major Rochester, New York office and commercial building between 1914 and 1931.

Scope and Contents Abelard Reynolds was a promnient early Rochester businessman, best known for dveloping the Reynolds Arcade commercial building. His sons William Abelard and Mortimer Fabrius continued to manage the Arcade, along with running successful businesses of their own. Papers in this collection date from 1814 to 1910.
